On Sunday, Delhi Police reported the recovery of a partially charred body belonging to a 20-year-old male near the Narela Bhawana flyover, situated behind Bharat Mata School in the capital.
Authorities received a call at 7:30 AM at the Narela Police Station, prompting officers to investigate the area where they discovered the body in a wooded section behind the school.
Identification and Investigation
A motorcycle was located approximately 150 meters from the body. The deceased has been identified as Kapil Dahiya, also known as Kartik, who lived in Swatantra Nagar.
Police have initiated a murder case and are actively pursuing further inquiries. This incident follows a previous murder on June 28, where a 19-year-old named Yash was fatally stabbed in the Rani Garden area of Shahdara.
Details of the Previous Murder
In the earlier case, police have identified two suspects, Amaan and Rehan, believed to be involved in Yash's murder. According to initial reports, the trio was engaged in a road rage altercation when the stabbing occurred.
Shahdara District DCP Prashant Gautam stated, 'Yash was around 19 years old, and the suspects Amaan and Rehan attacked him from behind. No arrests have been made yet, but our team is actively searching for them.'
Criminal Encounter
In a separate incident, a wanted criminal named Romil Vohra was killed during an encounter with the Delhi Police Special Cell near the Delhi-Haryana border. Two officers from the Counter-Intelligence unit were injured in the exchange and were promptly taken to the hospital.
Romil, a known associate of the Kala Rana-Noni Rana gang, had been under surveillance for his involvement in various violent crimes, including murder and extortion. The police had received intelligence from Haryana Police regarding his whereabouts on the night of June 23-24.
Police Action
Following the tip-off, a joint operation was conducted near Dera Mandi along the border. When police attempted to apprehend Romil, he fired at them in an effort to flee, prompting police to return fire in self-defense, resulting in injuries to both Romil and the officers.
Authorities confirmed that a case is being filed under the appropriate legal sections regarding this incident.
